Air Venture Museum just may be one of the only museums that you can literally fly into, if you have your own plane; however don’t despair, you can also get to this museum by car as well.
Located in Oshkosh on 3000 Poberezny Road, the first thing you will notice about AirVenture Museum is its size. Over 100,000 square feet, the museum includes five theaters, interactive exhibits, photo gallery, and two large gift shops. The museum happens to be the International Headquarters of the Experimental Aircraft Association, and is home to the EAA Aviation Foundation.
At 150 years old, La Crosse is the business center of western Wisconsin. It is the largest city in the area and is situated on the banks of the Mississippi River. The city itself is a mix of historic gems waiting for you to explore.
Reflecting the grand Victorian lifestyle, the recently restored Hixon House (429 North 7th St., La Crosse; 608-782-1980), is an Italianate-style residence that features original period furnishings. Built in 1860, the house is listed on the National Register of Historic Places, and is owned by the La Crosse Historical Society.

Looking for a shortcut from Wisconsin to Michigan? Take the S.S. Badger to bring you back to a time where everyone’s ultimate way to travel was by sea. The S. S. Badger makes 492 trips across Lake Michigan from Ludington, Michigan to Manitowoc, Michigan from May to October. Sixty miles of the lake are covered over the four-hour trip that carries passengers along with their vehicles, including cars, RVs, and tour buses.
